Located in the heart of Strasbourg, Taaka Beer Spa stands out as France’s very first beer spa.
When I first visited in 2023, I was intrigued by the concept – relaxing in a wooden tub filled with hops, malt, and brewer’s yeast.
The second time was in 2026, and I brought my husband along to experience it with me.
Both times I opted for the La Bulle package, and I left feeling invigorated and relaxed.
In this post, I’ll share my detailed review of Taaka Beer Spa and why I think it’s a must-visit.

Overview of Taaka Beer Spa

Taaka Beer Spa introduced an entirely new wellness concept to France.
As the country’s first-ever beer spa, it blends the age-old tradition of spa relaxation with the rich ingredients of brewing.
The spa is a wooden tub filled with warm bubbling water, but that’s not all. The water is premixed with a blend of hops, malt, and beer yeast.
While you soak, you can enjoy a refreshing beer, which you can refill from a tap that’s attached to the wooden tub.
You can also add a cheese and charcuterie platter, if you want something to snack on.
Helpful Tip: Non-alcoholic drinks are also available.
It’s a great activity if it’s raining in Strasbourg. But I also recommend going in December when it’s cold outside, and the Christmas market is packed.
My Experience
I visited Taaka Beer Spa twice, once in 2023 and again in 2026.
Both times, I reserved the La Bulle package.
Below, I’ll go over my experience, so you know what to expect:

It started with a 15-minute sauna. The temperature was around 65 degrees Celsius (149 degrees Fahrenheit).
Helpful Tip: You can increase the temperature by pouring water over the hot stones, or you can decrease it by asking the staff.

Afterwards, I was taken to my private hot tub filled with beer and hops. The temperature was perfect, not too hot or cold.
Helpful Tip: There is a tap with cold beer attached to each tub. It’s a blond beer with 4.9% alcohol.

The first time I ordered a cheese board, and the second time I tried the mixed cheese and charcuterie board. Both were delicious and paired perfectly with the beer.

After 30 minutes, I went to the relaxation room where I sat on a comfy lounge chair and let the spa treatment work its magic.
This part is only 15 minutes long, but on both visits, I had an extra 5 minutes.
At the end of my session, I felt rejuvenated and refreshed.
There is the option to rinse off after relaxing, but, for the best results, it’s recommended to wait a few hours.
On my first visit, I waited until I was home to rinse off, but on the second, I rinsed off right away because I had a meeting.
My skin was much softer after the first visit than the second, so I recommend following their advice and waiting to rinse off.
What I Liked and Didn’t Like
Overall, my experience at the spa was very positive.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, the facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the treatment itself was relaxing and rejuvenating.
However, there were a few things that I liked and didn’t like about my visit.
What I Liked
- The peaceful atmosphere. As soon as I walked into the spa, I immediately felt calm and relaxed. The soothing music, dim lighting, and overall ambiance helped me to unwind and let go of any stress.
- The quality of the products. The products used during my treatment left my skin feeling soft and nourished.
- The expertise of the staff. The staff at the spa were knowledgeable and professional. They were able to answer my questions about their treatments.
What I Didn’t Like
- The spa portion is short for the La Bulle package: I think the Grande Bulle, which has 60 minutes in the spa, would have been better. But that also comes with a significant price increase.
- All four wooden spas are in one room. While I didn’t have to share the space with anyone else on either visit, it would be nice if they added dividers so you can’t see the other tubs (or people).
Helpful Tip: On both visits, I went during the week. If you visit on Sunday, there might be more people, and so less privacy.
Packages and Pricing
Taaka Beer Spa has three packages, and reservations are required.
- La Bulle: This includes a 15-minute sauna, 30-minute spa, and 15-minute relaxation. The price is €60.
- Grande Bulle: This includes a 15-minute sauna, a 60-minute spa, and a 15-minute relaxation. The price is €90.
- L’Éfferve-scence: This package is for large groups (4-16 people) and requires a private booking.
Helpful Tip: The prices listed above are for one person. If you are two and share a hot tub, there is a €5 discount.
My Recommendation
Taaka Beer Spa offers a unique and relaxing experience.
While the 30-minute spa session felt a bit short and the open-plan layout could offer more privacy, the novelty of bathing in beer ingredients made it a memorable visit.
If you can afford it, I suggest splurging on the Grande Bulle package to get the full 60 minutes in the spa.
Overall, it’s a fun experience, and I would recommend adding it to your Strasbourg itinerary.
